Easter Basket Idea: HexBug Nano Micro Robotic Creatures

I don’t know if you are anything like me, but I despise filling Easter baskets with candy. I always have a few goodies tucked in, but I prefer to add a few items that are not edible. For my youngest, it will be a few packs of Pokemon cards. I am always on the lookout for something cool to stuff in there.
For my oldest, I found the coolest line of little electronic creatures: HexBug Nano Micro Robotic Creatures. If you saw them in the store, you would probably walk right by them without a second glance. We got one about a week ago, and my oldest son loves it. It is a small robotic ‘bug’ kind of a thing that moves on the floor, but the absolute COOLEST part is you can go online and register your ‘bugs’. Then, you can play really cool games and learn about real science. There are different collections of them, and it appears online that they will be adding new collections in the future.
I found them at Target today for $7.99 for the small bug, and the larger ‘ants’ were around $11, I believe. You can also buy replacement batteries at Target.
